The coordinator position involves various administrative and organizational tasks concerning the Intellexus project, including:

  • liaison between the administration (both University and ERC), PIs, team members, visiting scholars and the partner institute concerning matters such as: hiring of academic personnel and student assistants, assisting guests, communicating with the partner institute, material acquisition and maintenance, reimbursements, and the like
- coordination of activities of the project team and student assistants, including scheduling of meetings, coordination of vacations, preparing working hour reports, and the like
- coordination and organization of guest lectures, workshops, and conferences, including booking of conference rooms, assistance in travel arrangements, preparation of event flyers, announcements, and the like
- assisting in the preparation of project reports and publications
- assisting in the planning of literature requirements and in the compilation of bibliographies
- assisting in the budget management and financial reports
- maintaining the Project's website


Requirements:

- university degree (Bachelor or equivalent) in the fields of Indian, Tibetan, or Buddhist Studies

or
- equivalent skills, experience, and qualifications

Verification of equivalent skills, experience, and qualifications for the last prerequisites will be conducted on hiring.

Required skills and personal qualities
- very good knowledge of English and German
- good knowledge of Sanskrit and Tibetan
- knowledge of Indian and Tibetan Buddhist literature, knowledge of East Asian languages is desirable
- experience with academic research projects, in the field of Indo-Tibetan Buddhism is of advantage
- knowledge of university administrative tasks and third-party funding administration
- experience in organization of events
- computer literacy (especially MS Office)
- strong teamwork skills
- strong organizational skills
- office communication and management
- very good social skills
