Research Assistant (M/F/d)

(salary grade E 13 TV-L, 65%):

The Department of Animal Physiology at the School of Biology/Chemistry is seeking to appoint a research assistant to commence work on October 1st, 2023.

The position is limited to three years.

The position is integrated in the new Marie Sklodowska-Curie-Action (MSCA) international PhD fellow network Regenerate-IT. This collaborative network is comprised of 12 European teams investigating tissue regeneration in different animal and human models.


Your Duties:


  • You will work on a research project investigating regenerative processes in spiny mouse tissues (Acomys) and cell culture systems
  • You will participate in the department's training activities for undergraduate students

Requirements:


  • Completed degree (M.Sc. or comparable) in biology or a related field
  • You may have any nationality. However, according to the MSCA fellow criteria, you may not have lived and/or worked in Germany in the past 12 months. Shortterm stays, such as vacation in Germany, are not considered.
  • You may not hold a PhD degree (or equivalent) or have successfully defended your PhD thesis by the start of the project.
  • You must have several months of experience of working in a laboratory, e.g. as part of an experimental M.Sc. thesis.
  • Excellent command in written and spoken English.

Additional Qualifications:


  • Have a strong interest in regenerative processes
  • Have a background in cell biology, molecular biology, developmental biology, or related fields
  • Enjoy working in an international team
