Summary:


The role:


  • The Senior Linux & Cloud Administrator is responsible for availability of SAP systems running in SAP ECS
  • Respond, troubleshoot and resolve alerts & incidents in the Linux OS or infra layer
  • VMWare/ Azure/ AWS/ GCP/ Baremetal
  • Be a L3 escalation point for productive issues
  • Follow change management processes during service request execution
  • Seek opportunities to streamline standard operating procedures through automation
  • Must feel comfortable working in a fast paced, dynamic and flexible environment
  • Operate effectively in a global International environment and once in 46 weeks be available for an on call assignment on one of the weekend days

What you bring:


  • Bachelor's degree or higher in one of the following areas: Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technologies Management
  • 7+ years of related professional experience
  • Advanced technical background of Linux based server operating systems
  • Experience with server operations in large environments and in public clouds
  • Azure, AWS, GCP
  • Practical experience with OS operation, upgrades and security patching
  • Networking experience with the suite of TCP/IP, IP routing, NAT, firewalls
  • Experience with network services like DNS and LDAP and HTTP proxies
  • Good understanding of IT security, OS hardening
  • Experience in script programming (e.g. Shell, Perl, Python, Go, etc.) and with server automation tools (e.g. Ansible, CHEF)
  • Fluency in English language
