Postdoctoral position for a Physicist/ Biophysicist/Biophysical Chemist/Polymer Physicist:
full-time (100%)
As part of an ERC Advanced grant funded project, we are now looking for a postdoctoral fellow


Your tasks:

- independent research work in the field of biophysics

  • Expanding quantitative single molecule technologies to understand the molecular mechanisms of IDPs within cells.
  • Aiming to address fundamental limitations of single molecule spectroscopy and microscopy with respect to working on complex biological questions, using new interdisciplinary technology developments.

Your profile:


  • In addition to the general requirements according to public services law, applicants must meet the recruitment requirements stipulated in 57 of the
- _Hochschulgesetz_ of Rhineland-Palatinate.

  • A strong background (such as a Ph.
D. degree) in the physical sciences, engineering, advanced fluorescence techniques or other instrumentation heavy disciplines.

  • A general strong interest in quantitative approaches towards biological problems is essential.
  • An interdisciplinary interest and the ability to tackle a biological problem with a combination of techniques, ranging from sample preparation via measurements on custombuilt equipment to advanced computational analysis.
  • Previous experience in programming and quantitative data analysis will be seen as a major advantage

The position is paid according to

EG 13 TV-L and to be filled as soon as possible. The position is temporary for a fixed term limited to a period of 2 years.
