We're currently on the lookout for a

Director Vehicle Integration Engineering who will set and manage vehicle performance and ensure all systems work in harmony while achieving specifications. In this position, you will have an impact on all aspects of the project, harmonizing engineering disciplines and resolving technical issues encountered while achieving business objectives.


Responsibilities:


You Will:


  • Build and Manage the Vehicle Integration Team, covering Requirements Management, DMU/Packaging, Vehicle Architecture, EE and HV Integration as well as Vehicle Diagnosis
  • Define and generate product and process specifications covering all Nikola truck vehicles
  • Execute vehicle integration, design reviews, and related documentation
  • Configuring and integrating vehicle systems with layout, packaging and assembly requirements
  • Manage/Build Integration Team
  • Document Vehicle Level Requirements and Vehicle Functions
  • Manage Release of Vehicle Level Software
  • Manage Digital Mockup (DMU) and generate Vehicle Level Engineering Bill of Material (EBOM)
  • Manage Configurations within the PLM
  • Vehicle Diagnosis
  • EE and HV Integration

Qualifications:

You Have:


  • BS ME or EE, master's preferred
  • Fifteen or more years related experience in electric vehicle development and design. European Heavy Commercial Trucks + Class 8 truck experience highly desirable
  • Ergonomics and Occupant Package Experience
  • Working understanding of the concept creation and execution of calculations required to evaluate and improve 'clean sheet' engineering/design
  • Experience and understanding of project timeline for electric vehicle design, engineering and test, and development programs
  • Experience taking existing vehicle subsystem components and determining acceptability to new program requirements
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing and quality assurance topics related to electric vehicle componentry
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and integrate an overall vehicle solution
