Your role:

The broader objective of this expert position is twofold.

First as an expert in lab automation you will contribute to further advance CDH workflows by implementing next generation automation process for liquid handling systems as well as maintaining current equipment.

Second, you will support laboratory logistics and requests using integrated workflows and automation devices


Responsibilities:


  • Be accountable for designing, developing, implementing, validating and documenting new automated and flexible liquid handling processes within CDH landscape in line with projects requirements.
  • Take care of the maintenance of the automated systems in CDH, including troubleshooting and recovery of instrument errors.
  • Execute experimental work in the laboratory to deliver compounds to projects teams and reformat compound libraries using integrated workflows and automation devices.
  • Support the continuous analysis of existing process to identify automation potential and consequently contribute to the collection of the requirements for the optimization of the processes.
  • Provide weekly updates to the lab manager and support the colleagues with other lab tasks, such as the organization of consumables and general lab logistics.

Who you are:


  • A technical bachelor/master degree or a comparable qualification with professional experience in the abovementioned environment is desirable.
  • Handson experience and indepth knowledge in the field of automation systems is required for the automation of liquid handling platforms and lab data storage systems.
  • A high degree of process understanding and very good conceptual skills as well as attention to details and good analytical skills are among your strengths.
  • The abilities to work in teams, responsibly and consistently complete daily tasks on time and flexibility to organize daily work are key attributes.
  • The abilities to explain issues to various stakeholders in a way that is appropriate for the target group and to communicate efficiently in English are a must.
