The Hertie School in Berlin prepares exceptional students for leadership positions in government, business, and civil society.

The school offers master's programmes, executive education and doctoral programmes, distinguished by interdisciplinary and practice-oriented teaching, as well as outstanding research.

Its extensive international network positions it as an ambassador of good governance, characterised by public debate and engagement. The school was founded in 2003 by the Hertie Foundation, which remains its major funder. The Hertie School is accredited by the state and the German Science Council.

The Recruitment and Admissions team is concerned with finding the best minds for the Hertie School's graduate progammes.

The team manages the recruitment, selection and admission of prospective students for the Master of International Affairs, Master of Public Policy, Master of Data Science for Public Policy and Executive Master of Public Administration programmes.

We seek to fill the position of a


Student Assistant (M/F/d)
Part-time (10h/week)

The position is to be filled by 13 March 2023 or by agreement. The targeted duration is 24 months (12 months minimum).


Your tasks:

  • Produce written texts for the Hertie School's marketing materials for our master's programmes (e.g., website, brochure, newsletter, admissions blog);
  • Set up online and offline student recruitment events using the Hertie School website and our CRM system;
  • Develop your own ideas and contribute towards creating new outreach and marketing campaigns.

Your profile:

  • Enrolled student at a German university
  • Experience in working with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and in online marketing is beneficial
  • Detailoriented and precise working style
  • Good organizational skills and ability to work independently
  • Excellent oral and written command of English (very good or native German skills a plus)
  • Availability for at least 12 months (longterm option for up to 2 years possible)
