Position Purpose:


The position holder will support the EUCD Leadership Team with the adherence to and the continuous improvement of the EUCD Operating model.

The objective is to support a high level of innovation and internal controls in order to monitor process quality and propose optimizations to structure and processes, identify redundancies and increase value contribution of EUCD functions while at the same time ensuring compliance following a risk-based approach.

As a member of the EUCD team the position will support the future enhancement of the EUCD functions particular in terms of processes in the countries and affiliates while maintaining a close relation to BU and Country Management.


Major tasks and responsibilities of position:

Support and enhance a compelling, long-term strategy for the EUCD functions; Support a consistent global, regional and local approach, incorporating appropriate country and regional nuances to ensure transparency, as well as appropriate costs in line with the relevant business strategies.


Identify opportunities to bundle services and consolidate functions, processes and activities to improve the cost structure and the value added of the EUCD functions.


Provide guidance to the functions in the countries and affiliates by supporting enterprise-wide internal controls, in order to optimize spend, reduce redundancies and increase value.

Partner with key business leaders across the Group to identify and address risk and compliance issues before they emerge.


Together with the EUCD functions establish and monitor key metrics, i.e., KPI's to track the economic benefit and process compliance of the EUCD functions.


Value added to the success of the company - what are the main objectives of the function?:

The objective of this role is to complement the existing organisational set-up and to intelligently contribute to process improvement and quality with the intuition and collaborative skills to work with the EUCD Leadership Team.


To enable Daiichi Sankyo to remain competitive, all EUCD functions in the countries must deliver high quality services with appropriate costs.

The position holder supports the EUCD Leadership Team to measure and analyses the value added of the EUCD functions to the business as well as identifying opportunities to improve processes and increase efficacy.

The holder of this role supports the compliance of the organization with Guidelines and Directives.


Qualifications (Education, skills, experiences and personal characteristics necessary for success in this position):

The incumbent must have a deep understanding of country-specific business practices and the importance of the relationship between business decisions and their financial implications to serve as trusted partner and change agent.

This position requires strong partnering and influencing skills to be able to quickly build strong relationships with both, internal and external compliance stakeholders to ensure compliance requirements are understood and consistently met.

Specifically, the incumbent must demonstrate the ability to support the development and implementation of robust, metrics-based processes to select and manage costs to evaluate performance and optimize cost.


The position holder must demonstrate:
- outstanding financial competencies, including broad knowledge on budgeting and forecasting methodologies across the sphere of business operations
- strong knowledge and experience of accounting processes in an international context
- comprehensive procurement, customer service and business operations expertise
- skills to develop and champion HR processes that closely support organizational goals
- excellent financial and quantitative analysis skills to develop robust business/use cases
- metric development and analysis, and knowledge of the external environment
- highly developed IT skills in process mining and ERP solutions
- as well as demonstrating an expertise in the areas of business processes, healthcare industry and compliance and/or audit requirements, in particular in the areas of identifying conflicts of interests and ensuring obligations and regulations are complied with by the organization. Must have strong multi-tasking, organizational and interpersonal skills, knowledge of external norms and related market conditions, business cultures, financial analysis techniques, information systems knowledge and technology assessment methods.


The position a willingness for travel, requires a minimum of ten years of international experience in finance, compliance, procurement and administration functions with a minimum of five years of related international management experience leading teams.
