Your tasks:

Scientific management of microscopes and support for scientific projects in the field of light microscopy
Conducting independent research in the areas of light microscopy or biophysics
Establishment of quantitative methods for studying biopolymers such as FRAP, FLIM, FRET, and FCS, as well as biophysical measurements using optical tweezers and labelfree microscopy methods
Initiation and leadership of a course on quantitative analysis methods for biopolymers
Participation in research data management projects with a focus on storage, analysis, and archiving of microscopy data
Ongoing further education in the latest microscopy techniques

Your profile:

In addition to the general requirements according to public services law, applicants must meet the recruitment requirements stipulated in 57 of the

- _Hochschulgesetz_ of Rhineland-Palatinate.

A successfully completed scientific university degree in life sciences, biophysics, physics, engineering, or other instrumentintensive disciplines
Advanced degree (e.g., PhD) in the mentioned fields desirable
Knowledge of one or more of the following areas: biochemistry, biophysics, optics, light microscopy techniques including widefield microscopy, confocal laser scanning microscopy, FRAP, FLIM, FRET, FCS, optical tweezers, and labelfree microscopy
Scientific curiosity and the ability to approach complex biological problems experimentally
Computer skills and experience in programming and image analysis are considered an advantage
Physicists with a keen interest in learning cell biology or biochemistry, even without extensive knowledge in these areas, are encouraged to apply. Comprehensive training will be provided.
Strong selforganization skills
High level of teamwork and a strong interest in interdisciplinary collaboration
Enjoyment in sharing knowledge and the ability to convey complex concepts in an understandable manner
Fluency in English
