    A leading international general contractor is actively recruiting a Health & Safety Manager for a new life sciences project in Munich. As Health & Safety Manager you will be number one in this field on site and report directly to a visiting Head of Health & Safety. This contractor specialises in the delivery of complex mission critical infrastructure.

    The mission critical sector is the fastest growing sector in construction right now and the need for data centre infrastructure continues to grow at a steady rate as does the need for more talent in the sector. With a steady pipeline of work for the coming years, it is an exciting time to be joining this contractor.

    The ideal candidate ideally will have a proven track record of managing large scale data centre or life sciences projects on time and within budget, but candidates with a strong commercial or industrial background will also be considered

    Health & Safety Manager Responsibilities:

    • in developing and implementing EHS strategies and policies to:
    • ensure the safety of all employees, contractors and visitors
    • ongoing legal compliance
    • up to date with current UK legislation and industry best practice and share this information with site staff
    • a key role in maintaining/improving our overall safety performance and that of our supply chain partners
    • all pre-commencement meetings and agree which RAMS need your review
    • Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS) as required
    • with and mentor site management teams in site set up, preparing H&S documents or presentations such as RAMS, toolbox talks, etc.
    • periodic site inspections and prepare relevant audit reports
    • internal project meeting to discuss specific issues when activities on site require
    • the lead in accident investigations

    Health & Safety Manager Requirements:

    • or other relevant H&S Qualification essential
    • knowledge of H&S requirements in UK Construction Industry
    • knowledge of current technical building requirements
    • to build strong working relationships with a wide range of people
    • communication and negotiation skills
    • with strong problem-solving ability
