- Lead day-to-day management of associations with a strategic focus, including strategic planning, implementation, and follow-up, as well as overseeing membership, communication, sponsorships, budgeting and contract management
- Support associations' Executive Boards with decision-making as well as development and implementation of strategies in line with their mission and vision
- Feedback on members' needs and concerns to association leadership on a regular basis
- Advise on compliance with governance, policies, and procedures outlined in by-laws and internal rules of the association
- Prepare and present association budgets to Executive Board
- Maintain overview of contracts with suppliers and sponsors
- Identify funding/sponsorship opportunities
- Regular feedback to Board of Directors on association activities, risk management, and performance
- A minimum of 5 years professional experience in the management of associations or non-profit organisations, of which at least 3 years should be in a lead/strategic role
- Advanced degree (e.g. Business studies, International Relations, Politics, Development Studies, Anthropology) or equivalent additional professional experience
- Proven, superior management skills: ability to coordinate inputs from various stakeholders, to track progress against targets and identify barriers to progress, to plan agendas and facilitate meetings, to organise, evaluate, and communicate information, ability to lead discussions in conflict situations and identify solutions
- Demonstrated ability to build trusting relationships with diverse stakeholders and organisations, with a strong spirit of outreach, diplomacy, and collaboration
- Superior listening, verbal, and written communication skills, able to effectively calibrate input and synthesise information to connect with diverse audiences
- Ability to work with flexibility, efficiency, and enthusiasm in a fast-paced and complex internal and external environment as a leader and team member
- Superior analytical skills and ability to structure portfolio analyses and support strategic initiatives and investment evaluations
- Expertise and experience with one or more aspects of the medical industry and scientific research is a plus
- Strong skills in budgeting and financial management
- Very good knowledge of English (other languages as plus), numeracy, copywriting/editing, presentation, administrative, general culture
- Willingness to travel abroad
- Very structured way of working and attention to detail
