ARDI specializes in supporting civilians affected by the conflict in Syria.

ARDI is registered in the United States, Germany, Turkey, Iraq, and Syria; and we operate in areas affected by conflict and migration.

ARDI leads programming across a wide variety of development projects, including expertise in peacebuilding, women's empowerment, capacity building, civil society strengthening, political participation, economic empowerment, technical research, awareness-raising, and the amplification of diverse and minority voices.

***ARDI is seeking a Human Resources (HR) Officer who will engage, lead, and collaborate across financial, operational, and communications arenas within the organization. The HR Officer role will help develop, enhance, and maintain effective internal operational approaches and tools that set a solid foundation from which the organization can continue to grow and evolve. The role supports and leads essential office management tasks, including organization of documentation, preparation of deliverables to German-based government offices related to finance, insurances, and other arenas; helps establish a strong network of communication and collaboration with other nonprofits, donors, and other stakeholders based in Europe and the Middle East; supports the development of internal policies, operational tools, and internal approaches/systems corresponding to programmatic, finance, operations, and communications departments; supports the hiring and onboarding processes (as well as other staff-support and training related arenas); and supports efforts to maintain a welcoming, transparent, and supportive working environment for diverse staff members across the organizational structure. As a swiftly growing organization, with an expanding presence across Europe and the MENA region, our internal systems, tools, and approaches are evolving and becoming stronger to meet our internal standards and forthcoming requirements of current and future donors. This position reports to and works closely with the Executive Director, Director of Programs, Finance Manager, and Operations Manager to meet our objectives in collaboration with other relevant members of the ARDI team.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary duties and responsibilities of the HR Officer include, but are not limited to:

Human Resources

  • Maintain employee and subcontractor records and support with payroll.
  • Assist with personnel recruitment and selection process.
  • Track and plan for staff attendance, worktime, vacation, overtime, and sickleave.
  • Support the development of organizational templates, policies, and regulations to constantly improve ARDI human resources procedures.
  • Support the development and improvement of an efficient staff leave tracking system.
  • Coordinates directly with German governmental departments, accounting firms, lawyers, etc. to meet requirements, ask questions, and ensure compliance with financial, legal, insurance, and other regulations related to Germanbased payroll staff members.
  • Other relevant tasks, as needed.

Accounting and Finances

  • Prepare and organize financial and accounting information in coordination with ARDI's contracted accounting firm.
  • Ensure payroll materials are submitted monthly to payroll staff members and that staff information is up to date, that accounting changes are related in a timely manner, and other related tracking and reporting tasks are completed.
  • Support development of official employee employment contracts in line with German government and ARDI organizational standards and regulations.
  • Work with ARDI management to ensure consultant and payroll staff salaries and contractor fees are paid and documented correctly.
  • Track and document monthly office expenses, gather and scan monthly receipts, organize files and informational materials using clear organizational systems.
  • Other relevant tasks, as needed.

Office Management and Logistics

  • Support visarelated processes for international staff members, at times in coordination with ARDI's contracted accounting firm and/or lawyer.
  • Provide informal translation support between German and English languages at times when nonGerman speaking staff need to be informed on documentation, processes, requests, etc. that have been made in German.
  • Identify office supply and utility needs, and assist with procurement as needed while ensuring proper documentat
