The Hertie School in Berlin prepares exceptional students for leadership positions in government, business, and civil society.

The school offers master's programmes, executive education and doctoral programmes, distinguished by interdisciplinary and practice-oriented teaching, as well as outstanding research.

Its extensive international network positions it as an ambassador of good governance, characterised by public debate and engagement. The school was founded in 2003 by the Hertie Foundation, which remains its major funder. The Hertie School is accredited by the state and the German Science Council.

To support event management, our Centre for Digital Governance is looking for a


Student Assistant (gn)
part-time (10 hours/week). The contract shall commence as of 01 September 2024 and will initially be limited until 31 January 2025.


Your tasks:

  • Support the Centre Manager and the Centre Assistant with the planning and execution of Centre events:
  • Hosted at the School as well as outside locations.
  • Support with the logistics of event management (catering, travel arrangements, relationship management with guests and other stakeholders)
  • Create event entries and add relevant information to the Centre's website

Your profile:

  • Enrolled student at a German university
  • Interest in digital governance
  • Prior experience in event management is an asset
  • Prior experience with Canva or similar tools as well as website content management systems are assets
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Good organisational skills and ability to work independently
