    Commercial Manager - Germany

    The commercial manager, working closely with our senior management team, will be responsible for developing and starting up our operations in LST in the Greater German area. The role will cover Life science but will have a specific focus on advanced manufacture. The commercial manager will report into the Regional Commercial Director responsible for the sector. The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

    You will:

  • Liaise with the customer, his representatives and other 3rd parties on commercial issues, including the agreement of additional monies.
  • Cost and value management for project, ensuring appropriate systems and procedures are in place.
  • Financial reporting for project.
  • Change management for the project: record change and allocate responsibility. Evaluate/recover any change that is not Sisks's risk/liability (including recovery from 3rd parties).
  • Risk and opportunity management for the project: management (with operations team) of known and newly identified risks and opportunities for the best project return as well as identification and implementation of mitigation measures.
  • Manage the commercial team to ensure the delivery of key responsibilities and develop their knowledge.
  • Provide support and training for site staff on commercial items.
  • Train and share knowledge at every opportunity and mentor as part of the Excelerate Programme.
  • Supervise the preparation of Cost Plans for complex projects, using a range of cost planning techniques and software, manage the compilation of data to permit various analyses.
  • Interrogate and manage the suite of project cost reports from raw data and provide analysis that can inform key decisions.
  • Prepare long term cash forecasts for complex projects, monitor results and interpret reasons for deviations. Use established techniques to minimize the outflow of cash and maximize inflow.
  • Have detailed knowledge and experience of the project cost management system and can provide detailed guidance to others.
  • Devise innovative systems to control and monitor direct works cost and financial performance.
  • Devise and manage complex Project Cost Reporting systems, with associated capacity to interrogate data and identify trends.
  • Propose actions in response to changes in client and stakeholder needs and expectations.
  • Professionally network within and beyond Sisk and is able to draw on these contacts in support of their role.
  • Initiate identified and valuable business relationships and work to ensure they are developed effectively over time.
  • Proactively ensure own and other people's objectives/activities are aligned to Sisk and business unit plans.
  • Review effectiveness of change procedures and develop improvements where necessary.
  • Report risks associated with design liability and draft step-down clauses into Sub-Contractor/Designer Agreements.

    • You will have:

  • Fluent English and German.
  • Industrial construction sector.
  • Advanced technology [semi-conductor manufacture or similar].
  • Experience working with top tier clients.
  • Experience working within the life science sector.
  • Senior level within a top tier contractor or Construction management team.
  • Wide knowledge of the Client and supply chain base within Germany.
  • Degree qualified in a Commercial or other related discipline.
  • Ability to manage self, develop Reports and Commercial plans in line with the company systems.
