The Hertie School in Berlin prepares exceptional students for leadership positions in government, business, and civil society.

The school offers master's programmes, executive education and doctoral programmes, distinguished by interdisciplinary and practice-oriented teaching, as well as outstanding research.

Its extensive international network positions it as an ambassador of good governance, characterised by public debate and engagement. The school was founded in 2003 by the Hertie Foundation, which remains its major funder. The Hertie School is accredited by the state and the German Science Council.

The Executive Education Unit develops tailor-made training programmes for high-profile international delegations and also carries out consultancy projects. To support
the development, planning and implementation of these projects, we are looking for a


Student Assistant - Executive Education (gn)
part-time (20 hours/week). Contract start date is as soon as possible. The targeted duration is 24 months, minimum 12 months.


Your tasks:

  • Support in the supervision of highprofile international delegations
  • Research on current sociopolitical topics, especially in the areas of global politics, administrative modernisation, international and transatlantic relations, digitalisation and AI, international cooperation and development
  • Travel and logistics planning for delegation visits, organisational and administrative assistance in project management
  • Support in the supervision of highprofile delegations and in the organisation of visits and background discussions, e.g. in federal ministries, the Bundestag, think tanks, NGOs, etc.
  • Assistance in the preparation and followup as well as in the supervision of seminar events
  • Contact management

Your profile:

  • Excellent knowledge of German and English, both written and spoken
  • Interest in the Hertie School's range of topics as well as in working with highcalibre international groups
  • Careful, structured and independent way of working
  • Strong organisational skills, good communication skills, reliability and flexibility
  • Initial experience in project work and international project management is an advantage
