and evidence-based consultation gives our employees unique access to national and international stakeholders in politics and business. The position is in the Competence Center »Emerging Technologies« and is available at the earliest opportunity. The Competence Center deals with the identification, evaluation and design of new technology developments and socio-technical transformations.


What you will do

  • In an openminded and cooperative team you will develop and carry out interdisciplinary projects at the intersection of politics, business and technology.
  • You will also work on a research project which analyses the current status and trends in quantum communication and works out roadmaps for future developments together with the community (SQuaD umbrella project quantum communication Germany).
  • In addition to desk research, expert interviews, the design and implementation of online surveys, meta market analyses, technology analyses, patent and publication analyses and the design of cost models are suitable methods which will be applied.
  • You will present your research results in international publications, at conferences and scientific congresses as well as in research reports. The results of your work flow directly into the strategic consultation of decisionmakers in politics and business.
  • After a certain period of time, you will be responsible for project acquisition and management and have the possibility to contribute and advance own research ideas.

What you bring to the table

  • You have already successfully obtained a university degree (German diploma or Master) in physics or engineering (e.g. electrical engineering or information technology).
  • A sound knowledge of information and communication technologies, semiconductor technologies and ideally quantum technologies is required, which is based on a relevant doctorate and/or appropriate work experience.
  • You are interested in interdisciplinary issues and work independently as well as demonstrating teamwork and communication skills in interdisciplinary contexts.
  • We expect very good German and English skills both orally and in writing as well as being able to present research results convincingly.
