Chair (W2) of Digitized forestry processes and systems

earliest possible date.
You (M/F/x) are dedicated to the development, integration and optimization of digitalized processes
within forest-based, biogenic value networks with special attention to interfaces and human work in
research, teaching and public transfer. Its research is based on Industry 4.0 approaches and methods
for the purpose of automating machines and processes. These methods include, among others,
sensor technology and data-driven technologies in forestry. Sustainability, resource efficiency,
protection of climate and biodiversity in the production of wood and non-wood products as well as
the provision of other ecosystem services are important basic principles. Teaching essentially includes
training in the bachelor's and master's degree program "Forest Sciences", in the master's degree
program "Wood Technology and Wood Economics" and in other degree programs at TUD Dresden
University of Technology. In particular, contents in the fields of automation of forestry processes and
stand treatment and personnel management under the influence of digitalization are relevant.

We particularly expect your willingness to acquire DFG projects as well as your interest to actively
participate in collaborative research. Complementary to existing competencies, the orientation
should be on participative and collaborative research methods. In addition, we strive for active
cooperation with partner institutions in DRESDEN-concept, a research alliance of TUD with local non
- university research and cultural institutions. Your willingness to teach in English is a prerequisite, as
is your willingness to actively participate in academic self-administration.

We are looking for an internationally recognized individual with comprehensive competencies in the
field of forest sciences, in-depth knowledge and experience in information technologies, and
production systems modeling and simulation, as evidenced by relevant publications in top-tier
publication venues. Your publications, international networking, and teaching evaluation results serve
as evidence of this. Your research achievements have high development potential. In addition, we
expect extensive experience in independent teaching and success in acquiring third-party funding.
