The Hertie School in Berlin prepares exceptional students for leadership positions in government, business, and civil society.

The school offers master's programmes, executive education and doctoral programmes, distinguished by interdisciplinary and practice-oriented teaching, as well as outstanding research.

We are looking for a


Student Research Assistant - Human Rights (gn)
part-time (10 hours/week). The contract shall commence as soon as possible and is initially limited for 12 months.


Your tasks:

  • Support research activities, in particular,
- collection, documentation, and analysis of international legal materials in the field of international human rights law
- carrying out literature reviews;

  • Support administrative activities.

Your profile:

  • Currently enrolled at a German University studying law or international relations;
  • Basic knowledge of and interest in UN Human Rights Treaties and Treaty Bodies;
  • Ability to document and analyse international legal materials and case law in the field of human rights;
  • Excellent knowledge of MS excel;
  • Excellent organisational skills;
  • An undergraduate, but not a master's degree;
  • Ability to selfmanage;
  • Minimum 12month commitment (a longer appointment may also be possible).
