The University of Klagenfurt is pleased to announce the following open position at the Department of English at the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Education with an expected starting date as soon as possible :Independent research and further development of the candidate's scientific qualification in the field of American literature and culture with the option of working towards completing a postdoctoral thesis (habilitation)
Independent undergraduate and graduate teaching in the field of American literature and culture; International publications and presentations
Participation in department administration, teaching and research administration, and in university committees
PhD degree at a national or international university with a research focus on American literatures, preferably U.Habilitation research project in the field of American literature and culture
Excellent command of written and spoken English
Pertinent international experience (e.g. academic experience, other forms of education or training)
Research interest in Transcultural and Postcolonial Studies, Critical Race/Ethnicity Studies, and/or the Environmental Humanities
ability to cooperate in a team
German language skills are not a formal prerequisite, but proficiency (C1) is expected within two years.
30 gross per month for the full-time position (14 times per year; Personal and professional advanced training courses, management and career coaching
