    We are on the lookout for a talented individual to join our Operations team in Mannheim or Wetzlar, offering a hybrid work model with 2 days of remote work. Consider applying for the role of:

    Director Global Direct Sourcing (d/f/m)

    In this crucial position, you will be tasked with overseeing the purchasing strategy for Leica's production facilities in Mannheim and Wetzlar, as well as managing the purchasing strategy at the Singapore site. Your main responsibilities will include collaborating with your team to cultivate reliable suppliers, ensuring a seamless supply chain that meets quality and delivery requirements while optimizing procurement costs. Reporting directly to the Vice President Global Operations, you will play a pivotal role in driving the company's sourcing initiatives.

    YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Set the purchasing strategy for each commodity group, aligning with Leica and Danaher's strategic directives.
    • Lead innovation projects and analyze technology trends within commodity categories, spearheading global initiatives to secure long-term material supply to support Danaher's overarching sourcing objectives.
    • Enhance and streamline the supplier base, from onboarding new suppliers to developing existing ones, focusing on quality, delivery performance, and cost efficiency.
    • Independently negotiate and finalize contracts, manage annual price negotiations, and enforce necessary supply agreements.
    • Conduct regular supplier evaluations in coordination with scheduling and quality assurance teams, including material relocations and supplier transitions.
    • Analyze all cost components of purchased products/services to optimize total cost of ownership (TCO) and oversee purchase price discrepancies and cost-saving projects.
    • Supervise, mentor, and appraise team members while fostering their professional growth.
    • Generate reports and organize purchasing-related data to maintain system integrity as per process requirements.

    YOUR PROFILE

    • Hold a degree in Economics, Engineering, or equivalent field
    • Demonstrate extensive experience in strategic sourcing and supplier management, preferably with additional experience in material planning for production
    • Possess international leadership and project management skills
    • Have a solid grasp of manufacturing, product, and logistics within the supply chain, along with proficiency in contract management
    • Thrive in SAP R/3 modules MM/PP and excel in Excel
    • Fluency in both English and German
    • Be open to traveling 30-40% of the time
