Beschreibung

Duties:


  • Plans and performs Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Security Management functions in all security disciplines, Personnel Security (PERSEC), Physical Security, Information Security (INFOSEC), and Industrial Security (INDUSEC).
  • Reviews and adjudicates SOCEUR subordinate component commands SCI security incidents and takes appropriate actions.
  • Processes requests for SCI access of positions within the Command and subordinate activities.
  • Manages and monitors all security actions and procedures necessary to gain and maintain the accreditation of permanent and temporary Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs).

Conditions of Employment:


  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 60085, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) based on a T5 (or equivalent) investigation.
  • Requires Temporary Duty (TDY) travel up to 20% of the time.

  • May be required to take a counterintelligence scope polygraph examination if access to a special access program or similar activity is needed.

  • Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligencerelated security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.

Certification Program. This is the Department of Defense (DoD) Security Certification Program directed by DoD Instruction It is approved by the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Manpower and Reserve Affairs for use in the Army via the following memorandum:

Memorandum, Assistant Secretary of Army for Manpower, and Reserve Affairs, dated 8 September 2015, Subject: Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification Program.

The SPeD certification is DoD's initiative to professionalize the security workforce by establishing a common set of competencies for security practitioners that promotes interoperability, facilitates professional development and training, and develops a workforce of certified security professionals.

This position requires the incumbent to obtain the core SPeD Certification, Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC), within the first two years of employment.


  • Designated Emergency Essential Position: This position is considered essential to support Army's mobilization and wartime mission during periods of increasing tension or mobilization. It is considered emergency essential because (1) no qualified and immediate replacement exists and (2) having it vacant would (a) impair the effective operation of essential military support systems or (b) adversely impact the combat mission of deployed forces. Failure to remain in this position may result in separation for the efficiency of the Federal Service (5 USC, Ch.752). Incumbent may be required to take part in readiness exercises and training (Basic first aid; Basic soldier field survival skills; Laws of War/Geneva Conventions; Prisoner of War coping skills; Standards of Conduct; Proper wear, use and care of all issued clothing and equipment; Uniform Code of Military Justice; Customs and courtesies of host count
