- Conception and involvement in the development of strategies and innovative projects in the areas of science communication and marketing of the centre and strategic further development of existing formats
- Analysing and processing the research results produced by the centre using communication science methods. This also includes editing the results for press releases and the public as well as writing journalistic content for various target groups, including cross-media editing in German and English
- Implementation, coordination, and regular monitoring of internal and external communication measures in close coordination with the centre's management
- Main contact person and support for enquiries from the press, partners, and sponsors
- Advice on science communication within the Centre and support for management reporting
- Supervision and coordination of administrative staff
- Very good university science degree (M.Sc./ Diploma) including several years of professional experience in the editorial/journalistic field and/or in science in the field of science communication and PR
- High scientific affinity for the centre's topics
- Strong conceptual skills and analytical thinking ability
- Confident application of communication science methods and instruments
- Editorial writing skills
- Very good knowledge of the media landscape and media monitoring
- Experience with relevant content management systems/maintenance of websites

The LOEWE centre emergenCITY is an interdisciplinary research centre at TU Darmstadt. Further participating universities are the University of Kassel and the Philipps University of Marburg. The aim of emergenCITY is to research the foundations, methods, and solutions for future resilient digital cities. The team consists of professors and researchers from a wide range of disciplines and has an interdisciplinary structure. The centre is organised into four Program Areas: City and Society, Information, Communication and Cyber-Physical Systems. For more information, please visit
Tasks and Duties
The focus of the position is the strategic conception of the centre's science communication, in particular in the areas of research and scientific activities of the four programme areas, taking into account current professional and scientific findings. The aim is to sustainably shape and improve the visibility of the LOEWE Centre both internally and externally and to position it as a national and international resilience centre at TU Darmstadt together with the Universities of Marburg and Kassel.
