Your Mission

You will lead a team of talented and motivated designers in a fast-paced way to provide our customers with industry-leading user experience and interfaces for all the products of Jimdo to support small businesses and make them successful.

The user experience is a key factor to make products stick and valuable for customers, this is your area of expertise and influence.

You will engage with cross-functional teams that include designers, engineers, data scientists, product manager, and management to shape and establish the design vision and customer-centered strategy.

Responsibilities*- Create and establish a customer-centered design strategy across our product portfolio, teams, and stakeholders.

Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship for the Product Design Team and support them on their personal growth and career path.
Manage and enable the Product Design Team to work with crossfunctional product teams to promote, create, and deliver meaningful experiences for our customers (and their customers).
Establish and build on crossteam and crossdepartment collaboration.
Set up efficient and highquality design processes at scale.
Communicate and implement the best standards for User Experience and User Interface across all product teams and among the company.
Be an advocate for delightful user experiences, good visuals design, and strong usability and lead the creation of our design systems and support our standards and patterns.
Communicate and evangelize the importance of real customer engagement in the company.
Shape the Design Team culture: Create product design events, seek for conferences, and improve their collaboration.

Requirements:

You are passionate about leading a design team and enabling them to be the best they can be. You have 3+ years of experience leading teams of 510+ designers as well as 6+ years of experience working in software development and are familiar with common practices in this field.
You have successfully shaped a product/design vision and strategy in an organization. You've implemented best practices and processes within a product and design organization as well as experience with creating and maintaining design systems.
Your heart beats for the customer. As a storyteller, you start telling almost every story with the customer and you communicate customer and design needs to your team and stakeholders. You have also championed usercentered design principles and methodologies.
You work autonomously, collaboratively, and take ownership of your projects from beginning to end and you are willing to take on a wide range of different tasks and projects. In addition to that, you are proactive, creative, adaptable, and collaborative. You love wrestling with problems.
You are in love with digital products and are capable of understanding customer and business needs. This means that you are pragmatic about prioritizing projects and able to balance the tradeoffs between done and perfect whilst maintaining a high bar for quality.
You are comfortable giving, seeking, and receiving thoughtful critical feedback to raise the bar of the quality of our product design.
You're fluent in English it is our working language.
