The Hertie School in Berlin prepares exceptional students for leadership positions in government, business, and civil society.

The school offers master's programmes, executive education and doctoral programmes, distinguished by interdisciplinary and practice-oriented teaching, as well as outstanding research.

Its extensive international network positions it as an ambassador of good governance, characterised by public debate and engagement. The school was founded in 2003 by the Hertie Foundation, which remains its major funder. The Hertie School is accredited by the state and the German Science Council.

We are looking for a


Student Assistant - Alumni Affairs (gn)
part-time (20 hours per week). The contract is for 10-12 months and shall commence as soon as possible.


As a member of the Alumni Affairs team, your work will support our goal to build a vibrant, global community by fostering meaningful, lifelong relationships with over 2,350 Hertie School alumni in over 100 countries around the world.

You will be working closely with the Alumni Affairs Director and Associate to provide support in planning and implementing a wide variety of alumni engagement activities, including events, communications and services.


Your tasks:

  • Administrative support in alumni data research and reporting
  • Event planning and management support
  • Travel and logistics planning
  • General administrative support

Your profile:

  • Excellent knowledge of English, both written and spoken. Good knowledge of German is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Analytical mindset and meticulous attention to detail
  • Basic experience in data and project management is an advantage
  • Resilient, able to work calmly under pressure in a targetdriven environment
  • Able to work as part of a team as well as independently
