    Senior Grid Engineer

    LOCATION : Hamburg (Can be remote)

    LANGUAGE : German (At least C1) and English

    SALARY : €80,000 - €110,000

    Excited about shaping the renewable energy landscape through strategic grid planning?

    My client is on the lookout for a dynamic Grid Planner to lead grid pipeline management efforts in Germany The perfect fit for this role will be situated near Hamburg, with remote work options available based on qualifications.

    Role Responsibilities:

    Strategic Grid Support: Independently drive the progress of large-scale solar PV projects from inception to completion, with a focus on grid-related initiatives:

    Preliminary Phase: Oversee the comprehensive grid application process for solar PV projects throughout the country. Forge strong partnerships with local grid stakeholders, spanning both public and private sectors. Collaborate closely with the Solar Project Development Team to pinpoint regions with present or future grid accessibility. Provide technical guidance to Project Developers during project development. Assist in the strategic planning of grid-related project execution (e.g., mast replacement, substation construction).

    Execution Phase: Negotiate and finalize grid agreements and requisite permits for the solar PV project pipeline. Optimize grid connection arrangements through effective coordination with stakeholders. Support equipment commissioning and facilitate smooth collaboration with network operators throughout project implementation.

    Integration with Power Sales / PPA Origination Team: Identify prime locations for private wire projects and secure necessary agreements and permits for cable pooling, private wire connections, battery storage, and related endeavors.

    Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the primary resource for medium and high voltage system connections and medium-voltage line integration. Stay abreast of policy changes impacting grid connections.

    General Responsibilities: Contribute to knowledge advancement and champion best practices to maintain a competitive edge. Nurture relationships within the renewable energy sector to acquire projects at various developmental stages.

    Reporting to Senior Management: Provide regular updates on grid project status, progress, timelines, quality, feasibility, risks, and budgets.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
    • Demonstrated expertise in grid planning, preferably within large-scale renewable projects.
    • Proficiency in medium and high voltage range of the national supply grid.
    • Thorough understanding of transmission and distribution networks and relevant grid connection processes.
    • Existing contacts with local network operators preferred.
    • Strong negotiation, influencing, and commercial skills.
    • Excellent communication skills with diverse stakeholders. Fluency in German and proficiency in English.
