- Taking responsibility for country tax position of the AkzoNobel legal entities in DACH and ensuring that tax filings are compliant with the law
- Staying up to date on tax regulations and providing tax advice to local stakeholders
- Developing efficient solutions and tax strategies for DACH region
- Responsibility to optimize and improve tax processes
- Reviewing IFRS tax reporting in close cooperation with accounting team (local and regional); including providing guidance & training.
- Reviewing and signing-off VAT and withholding tax filings
- Reviewing and coordinating the corporate income tax return process in conjunction with the external service provider and internal accounting and controlling department
- Managing and coordinating tax audits
- Working closely together with the global transfer pricing team to ensure that the local transfer pricing documentation is complete and timely in place
- Supporting (global) projects an changes in the operating environment to ensure tax implications are properly considered and implemented
- Bachelor's degree with major in accounting, finance, tax, law, tax counsellor is a plus
- Several years of relevant experience in a tax role (in-house preferably)
- Solid experience in tax regulations for Germany, first experience in tax regulations for Austria and Switzerland is a plus
- Willingness to learn and have up-to-date knowledge about changes in tax law
- Analytical, strategic and problem-solving attitude
- Proficiency in SAP (or another ERP-System)
- Excellent MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint)
- Fluent German and English language skills
