TUD Dresden University of Technology, as a University of Excellence, is one of the leading and most
dynamic research institutions in the country. TUD has established the Research Training Group
"AirMetro - Technological & Operational Integration of Highly Automated Air Transport in Urban
Areas" (RTG 2947), funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). This interdisciplinary group,
involving five faculties and the German Aerospace Centre (DLR), will conduct research on 11 research
the technical and social challenges of Advanced Air Mobility, considering ecological, economic,
technological, and sociological factors. The RTG's structured doctoral program aims to train young
researchers in highly automated, networked mobility, featuring international collaboration with
mentors from the USA, Asia, and Europe. TUD and the RTG embodies a university culture that is

"Friedrich List" Faculty of Transport and Traffic offers within the
Research Training Group

RTG 2947 "AirMetro" a position as


Research Data Manager in the RTG "AirMetro" (M/F/x)

starting
as soon as possible. The position comprises 50 % of the fulltime weekly hours is limited to
April 30, 2029 (time limitation pursuant to TzBfG).


Tasks:
As part of our team, you will shape the research data management (RDM) in the RTG AirMetro

and take on a variety of tasks:

  • strategic development of the IT infrastructure
    in the RTG "AirMetro" in cooperation with the
Center for Information Services and High Performance Computing (ZIH) of the TUD and the
data center of the German Aerospace Center (DLR)
- conception, implementation and maintenance of structures for a collaborative research data

management system
in the RTG "AirMetro" in close cooperation with the participating
scientists of the 5 faculties and the DLR
- collection of requirements and design of method-specific metadata schemas for the

annotation of research data in the field of highly automated air traffic in urban areas
- programming appropriate interfaces for data exchange and collaborative software tools,

advising the project management and research groups on hardware and software solutions
in the context of research data management, taking into account the specific scientific
requirements
- development of a knowledge base for the use of IT in research ("AirMetro knowledge hub"
- "Wissenshub AirMetro")
- training on software use
- ensuring the security of data, network access and backup/recovery systems as well as the high
- availability of IT systems- procurement, configuration and maintenance of servers and clients in physical and virtual

environments.


Requirements:

- area- experience with database and/or content management systems (e.g. research data
- repositories) and their requirements- experience in the annotation of (research) data and with metadata standards
- confident handling of common computer hardware/software systems and experience with

common programming and scripting languages (e.g. Python, Javascript, PHP)
- very good written and spoken German and English skills
- analytical problem-solving skills and independent organization.
