The Hertie School in Berlin prepares exceptional students for leadership positions in government, business, and civil society.

The school offers master's programmes, executive education and doctoral programmes, distinguished by interdisciplinary and practice-oriented teaching, as well as outstanding research.

Its extensive international network positions it as an ambassador of good governance, characterised by public debate and engagement. The school was founded in 2003 by the Hertie Foundation, which remains its major funder. The Hertie School is accredited by the state and the German Science Council.

We are looking for a


Student Research Assistant - ARIADNE (f/m/div)
on a part-time basis hours per week).


Your tasks:

  • Deskbased research of published reports from ministries, agencies, and consultancies.
  • Qualitative coding of reports using MAXQDA (Prior experience preferable, but not essential).

Your profile:

  • German native speaker (or C1/C2 level proficiency) is needed, as many reports are only available in German language.
- graduate student with a Bachelor degree or Bachelor student (enrolled for at least the contract period at a German university and residing in Germany)
- interest in climate policy

  • Strong analytical skills. Familiarity with MaxQDA is preferable, but not essential.
  • Familiarity with literatures in any of the following areas would be an asset: policy process theories, policy mixes, policy design, innovation studies, climate change politics.
