    At the Institute for Modelling and Simulation of Biomechanical Systems (IMSB), we use computational and experimental methods to advance our knowledge of biomechanical systems, with a particular focus on the human system. Through this work, we contribute to the vision of the digital human, its dissemination to policy makers and society, and its translation into commercial applications.

    As part of the joint project ARENA with the research focus Mobility , we are involved in occupant safety research of autonomous vehicles. The development of a human body model for a realistic, virtual occupant simulation in the vehicle of the future is a central aspect of this research.

    For project work in this exciting field of the future research, we are looking for a research associate. Position is open until filled.

    Tasks:

  • Supervision of the research project
  • Creation and calculation of human simulation models (MBD, FE)
  • Development of global control methods for motor control
  • Close dialogue with the project partners involved
  • Publication of research results in scientific journals

    • Personal qualifications:

  • Degree in Science (Master), preferably in the field of natural sciences or engineering.
  • High level of commitment, high sense of responsibility, reliability, precise and structured way of working
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Very good knowledge of written and spoken English
  • Excellent time management, planning and organisational skills
  • Confident use of Microsoft Office products and video conferencing
  • Experience with MBD and/or FE software required, e.g. LS-DYNA, ANSYS, OpenSim, etc.
