- to provide excellent desktop support to our internal users across a portfolio of supported Mac, Windows and Linux desktops and mobile devices. This includes system and software deployment (SCCM/JAMF), system configuration (user profiles, network, printing, email, etc), as well as, effective troubleshooting on the aforementioned platforms
- to provide a knowledgeable, friendly and reliable IT helpdesk to our users
- to ensure excellent service quality and user satisfaction through adequate tracking of support tasks, change management and efficient communication with our users
- to contribute to continuous improvement of EMBL's IT infrastructure, user experience and support processes
- Contract duration: 3 years (renewable up to 9 years)
- Grading: 6 or 7 (monthly salary starting from 3.700€ after tax, plus other paid benefits)

- at least 2 years of work experience in a professional IT support environment
- a degree in computer sciences or equivalent practical experience
- technical expertise in managing and supporting desktop and mobile OSs
- experience in enterprise level automated systems and software deployments
- hands-on experience with Windows/Linux/Mac OS environments
- good understanding of computer networks
- familiarity with enterprise-level integration of desktop and mobile systems including areas such as network access, file systems and email
- good communication and English language skills
- excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills
- strong Linux skills
- good knowledge of Windows Active Directory
- basic knowledge of VMware and VDI technologies
- good knowledge of the German language
