- Develop and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies for packaging materials, considering market trends, supplier capabilities, and cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct regular supplier assessments to ensure compliance with quality standards, ethical practices, and sustainability goals.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with packaging suppliers to achieve optimal pricing, terms, and conditions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders to align procurement strategies with business objectives and ensure seamless integration of packaging solutions.
- Monitor and analyze market trends, global economic factors, and industry developments to anticipate potential impacts on the packaging procurement landscape.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the packaging category, focusing on cost reduction, innovation, sustainability, and operational efficiency.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and track the effectiveness of packaging procurement strategies.
- Stay abreast of regulatory requirements related to packaging materials and ensure compliance across the supply chain.
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees and/or professional certifications are a plus.
- Business, and Supply Chain Management skills are a plus.
- Proven experience as a Procurement Category Manager, with a focus on packaging materials, preferably in the chemical or manufacturing industry.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers.
- In-depth knowledge of packaging materials, market dynamics, and industry trends.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluent in English; fluent /conversational in German; Spanish or French is a plus.
