Beschreibung
Role Purpose
To act as the senior representative for Swire Shipping in the Europe region and ensure direct connectivity between the business and key relationship stakeholders for the region including the recognition of risks and opportunities for the wider organisation.
The primary focus of the role will be driving success for the Swire Shipping liner trades, however there is expected to be coordination and support for the Swire Projects team where appropriate.
Role Accountabilities
Key Stakeholder Management
•Continuity of key business relationships in the Region including but not limited to customers, agencies, ports, carriers, stevedores, industry associations and affiliates.
•Managing the identification of areas to grow Swire Shipping business or to minimize risk through the effective connection of external stakeholders with relevant internal business partners.
•Understanding and maintaining a clear brief on business requirements and capabilities and seeking opportunities to connect these with suitable partners operating in the region.
•Safeguarding relationships that can enhance trade structures and/or lead to partnership or acquisition opportunities.
Strategic Support
•Work with internal business partners to grow Swire Shipping's presence in the region with a focus on development of opportunities, cross divisional activity, alignment and enhancement in the region.
•Work closely with the divisional GM's, CM's, RM's and Commercial teams to create "One Team" approach with key regional stakeholders.
•Develop, maintain and distribute relevant macro-economic, competitor and geo-political updates to internal business stakeholders.
•Act as the face of the business for VIP account management in the region in conjunction with the wider Commercial team.
•Participate in critical reviews and strategic planning sessions and provide recommendations to support value retention and creation for all relevant business sectors.
•Assist with the coordination of agency conference and events within the region.
•Act as a champion for opportunities for Swire Projects and Swire Integrated Logistics in the region.
Safety
•Take responsibility for the safety of myself and those around me by displaying safety leadership principles (i.e. Safety I's & Accountability ladder).
•Challenging and stopping unsafe acts and behaviours or unsafe conditions.
•Comply with the Global Safety Standards, Polices and Operating Procedures.
Operations Support
•In times of escalations, intervene and coordinate with internal and external parties to achieve the most favourable outcomes for the business.
•Be available to provide management advice and technical expertise to internal and external parties for specified targeted cargo operations.
•Represent the company at industry forums and institutions.
•Ability and willingness to work effectively across multiple time-zones as situations are encountered.
•Knowledge of breakbulk shipping best practices, compliance, safety procedures and stowage.
•Support for Swire Shipping's policies and strategies. Examples being; sanctions, environmental, sustainability and industry innovation strategies.
Key Qualifications & Skills
Qualifications
•A tertiary qualification related to the maritime industry, operations or business is preferred.
•Minimum 15 years of experience with a progressive career in the Shipping Industry is preferred.
•Stevedoring, seafaring (merchant navy), and/or shipping line operations experience with relevant certifications is also desirable.
Technical Skills
•Shipping experience with a proven business or marketing focus.
•Knowledge of general macro-economic principles and international trade
•A solid understanding of the financial drivers to the business and customers
•Financial acumen: ability to prepare and analyse financial data in support of business initiatives and make sound financial decisions.
•Highly developed communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
•Comprehensive knowledge of the commercial, technical, legal, and regional aspects of shipping operations and management.
•Ability to communicate in French would be advantageous.
•Working knowledge in the usage of shipping related digital systems and software.
•Self-motivated individual with a proven record of working autonomously in challenging environments.
