About the Role

We are seeking a talented and creative UX Designer / Data Visualization Specialist to join our team. As a UX Designer / Data visualisation specialist you will play a pivotal role in enhancing user experiences and designing intuitive and user-friendly interfaces for our data visualization products and applications. You will transform complex data sets into visually appealing and easy-to-understand visualizations, dashboards and reports. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand user needs, gather requirements and create visually compelling data visualizations that provide actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop interactive and visually compelling data visualizations, dashboards and reports using data visualization tools.
Transform raw data into meaningful insights through data aggregation, analysis and visualization techniques.
Work hand-in-hand with Product Managers on product research and vision, translating it into wireframes, mockups and final designs.
Communicate design ideas effectively. Conduct user research, interviews and usability testing to gather feedback and iteratively improve the user experience.
Ensure consistency and adherence to design standards and best practices across all data visualization projects.
Develop and maintain data visualization standards, best practices, templates and documentation.
Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate team members on data visualization techniques and best practices.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies and best practices in UX design and data visualization.
Test concepts with users and integrate their feedback. Actively participate in the development of a design system and platform styles.
Be autonomous in identifying UX problems and devising elegant solutions to them - you'll be responsible for ensuring a delightful user experience.

Requirements and Qualifications:

Proven experience as a UX designer, data visualization specialist, preferably within a business intelligence or analytics field, +3 years.
Strong portfolio showcasing UX design projects and data visualization work.
Solid experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps.
Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), Sketch, or other visual design and wireframing tools.
Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices.
Experience with data visualization tools such as, ideally Quicksight and/or Tableau, Power BI or similar.
Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to human-computer interaction.
Familiarity with emerging design trends, techniques, and technologies.
A passion for staying updated on industry best practices.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and the ability to effectively communicate complex data/design concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Strong understanding of data analysis techniques and best practices (knowledge of SQL and/or Python)
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience with agile development processes.
Proactive in identifying problems and proposing creative solutions.
You have a sense of humour and enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds.
